A Message From The Founder Of PubLife

As we move farther and farther from the prelude, closing the first chapter in the story of PubLife has been bittersweet.

Building this organization has been amazing, but operating it has been even more fulfilling.

There's something different about watching the ideas, plans, conversations, and late nights turn into something real that is actually serving people.

The next chapter of PubLife has begun, and we're excited for all that is to come.

Through PubLife Presents, we're beginning to create opportunities for hospitality professionals to come together, learn from one another, and strengthen the industry we all care about. We're also continuing to build the partnerships and infrastructure that will allow PubLife to grow responsibly and remain sustainable.

There's still a tremendous amount of work ahead, but that's a good thing. PubLife is no longer simply something we're building. It's something we're doing!

I'm truly humbled by everyone who has donated, volunteered, partnered with us, opened a door, shared our mission, or simply believed in what we're trying to accomplish.

Together, we're serving the ones who serve us.

With gratitude,

Vincent Mandacina

Founder & Executive Director

If You Missed It...

While early July marked some important milestones for PubLife, the weeks since have brought plenty of progress of their own. We've expanded our outreach to medical providers in dentistry, optometry, mental health, and chiropractic care, with several providers offering reduced fees to help us stretch grant dollars further.

We've also begun developing our first Hospitality Forum and look forward to sharing more details soon.

PubLife has now completed its first assistance grant and approved a second grant, giving us valuable experience as we continue improving the program.

PubLife Presents: returns in September with a conversation focused on addressing two of the challenges facing the hospitality industry every day: burnout and mental health preservation.

Join us for a symposium featuring Heather Graves of Heartland Mental Health as we explore the realities of burnout, the importance of protecting mental health, and practical ways hospitality professionals and leaders can build healthier, more sustainable careers and workplaces.

Tuesday, September 29

5:30–7:30 PM

Afterword — Emerald City Private Event Lounge

The evening will include time to gather and connect, followed by a short symposium and an open conversation with Heather.

This is an educational community event. Our goal is simple: create a space where hospitality professionals can learn, talk openly, and support one another.

Follow PubLife.org and PubLife on social media for the latest information and any updates to the event.

Whole Harvest Kitchen

This month, we're proud to spotlight Whole Harvest Kitchen, Kansas City's home for bold, vibrant, plant-based flavor. Located in Towne Center Plaza, their 100% plant-based, whole-food menu brings together thoughtfully crafted dishes made with real ingredients, from brunch through dinner, alongside wellness-forward beverages.

Whole Harvest Kitchen also supported PubLife's Lawn Party by donating two dinner-for-two certificates to our silent auction. We're grateful for their contributions and their commitment to supporting the hospitality community.

Added Gratuity

In the hospitality industry, gratuity is more than a tip. It's a way of recognizing exceptional service and expressing genuine appreciation. That's the spirit behind this section, where we'll recognize the people and organizations whose generosity makes our mission possible.

PubLife would not be where it is today without the people who believed in this mission before there was much to see.

First, we want to take a moment to recognize our founding supporters and founding partners who gave their time, resources, encouragement, and trust during PubLife's earliest days. Your support helped turn an idea into an organization capable of making a real difference.

We also want to give special thanks to Stacey, our Chief Executive Operations Officer, and Anthony, a member of our Board of Directors, whose personal generosity and continued commitment to PubLife have helped us move forward in meaningful ways.

To everyone who believed in PubLife before our first grant was approved, before our first event was held, and before our work had a track record to point to: Thank you!

You helped us get here and we're grateful to have you with us as we continue forward.

Get Involved

PubLife is growing, and there are more ways than ever to be part of what we're building.

Your support helps us provide sustainable assistance to hospitality workers facing unexpected medical expenses. Whether through a monthly contribution, volunteering, becoming a partner, or connecting us with others who believe in our mission, every contribution makes a difference.

We're also looking for speakers, chefs, owners, operators, managers, and industry leaders who want to share their experience and help strengthen our local hospitality

community. Keep an eye out for upcoming PubLife Presents: events and our first Hospitality Leadership Forum.

We'd love to have you involved.
